Cake Smash Milestone Sessions
There’s nothing sweeter than celebrating your little one’s first birthday with a little cake… and a lot of giggles! My cake smash sessions are all about capturing the joy, curiosity, and messy fun of this once-in-a-lifetime milestone. These studio-style sessions are held in my home studio in Woodstock (however if the season is right, we could move this outdoors) I typically schedule them during the day, with a preferred start time of 9 or 10 AM. If that timing isn’t ideal for your child, I am happy to adjust. Weekday appointments are generally available, with limited weekend options. Session Fee: $300
What’s Included:
- 45 minute session
- 15 fully retouched, high-resolution digital images, with black and white conversions
- Personal online gallery for viewing and downloading
How it works:
After your session, I’ll send you a private online proofing gallery with all the best images from our time together. These are lightly edited “soft proofs”—just enough to give you a true sense of the final image, without the full retouching just yet. From there, you’ll select your top 15 favorite images. Once you've made your selections, I’ll carefully retouch each one by hand, polishing them to perfection! If there are more images you can't live without, you will have the chance to upgrade your gallery.
Planning Your Cake Smash Session:
Together, we’ll choose a theme for your session, and I’ll provide most, if not all of the decoration. If you’ve found inspiration on Pinterest, feel free to share it with me—we’ll make it uniquely your own!
When it comes to the cake, don’t overthink it. Some families choose to bake their own, while others order from a custom baker I can recommend. Publix and Walmart also do a wonderful job with simple, budget-friendly options.
Your session will flow in three parts: we’ll begin with classic portraits of your little one, move into the cake smash, and wrap up with my adorable bathtub photos. Most parents bring along a few outfits—perhaps a dressy look for portraits, a tutu or bow tie for the cake smash, and a swimsuit (or simply baby!) for the bath. I also keep a small collection of outfits on hand that you’re welcome to use.
What's next?
With continued interest, I will send you a simple contract, and an invoice for small retainer fee to hold your session date on my calendar. After those are completed, I will send you a very important questionnaire (so i may get to know your little one a little better) and a client experience guide so you have all the info needed to maximize our time together!
